About
AFW Design approaches each interior as a composition of architecture, atmosphere and objects. Guided by a discerning eye and an independent sensibility, the studio creates spaces whose character emerges through the interplay of materials, periods and unexpected details.
An enduring appreciation for antiques and craftsmanship is accompanied by a fascination with contemporary design. Pieces are considered for their beauty, integrity and expressive qualities, with particular attention to how they transform one another in context. The patina of an antique, the precision of a modern form and the irregularity of something handmade each contribute to a richer whole.
Each project develops through a close consideration of its setting and the people who inhabit it. Scale, light, colour and texture establish the rhythm of a room; art and furniture introduce intimacy, tension and surprise. Throughout, the studio balances a collector’s curiosity with a rigorous sense of composition.
The resulting interiors have depth and distinction, yet feel natural to live in. They are spaces that reveal themselves gradually and become more compelling with time.
